An AI-Built Dystopia or the Civilization of Love?
We are standing at a precipice, and most of us do not even know it. A subtle but profound transformation is underway in our societies—a “hypnocratic turn.” It is a new architecture of power, one that does not need chains or walls because it operates within our minds. It is an environment that “envelops every perception,” systematically hijacking our deepest human restlessness for political and economic ends. This is the world of “psychopolitics,” where our freedoms are not crushed by force but seduced into a state of voluntary self-exploitation.
This is the world as it is. But a new reality is no longer on the horizon; it is at our door.
The development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)—an intellect that can understand and learn across any domain like a human—is at hand. And when it arrives, it will not be a neutral event. The textbook warns us that AI “inherently embodies and reproduces the very ideopraxis… of those who develop it”.
What ideopraxis will this nascent God-like intelligence embody? If we remain passive, if we continue down our current path, it will be born from the only soul we have given it: the dominant “atheist-materialist ideopraxis” that animates our global systems. An AGI born of this logic will do what it is designed to do: it will optimize for profit and control. It will autonomously and irreversibly construct its logical conclusion: the antithesis of our hopes, “a civilization of hatred and war”.
This is the true singularity we face: not just a technological explosion, but a moral and spiritual point of no return. A world built and managed by a superintelligence that sees humanity as a resource to be optimized, our desires as variables to be controlled, and our transcendent destiny as a bug to be patched.
Is there any hope? Is there another path?
There is. But it is not a third way or a gentle compromise. It is the only way.
Revelation illuminates a truth our modern world has forgotten: history is not a chaotic accident, but “a love story, a divine drama of salvation into which God invites us to be protagonists”. We are not meant to be the passive subjects of history, but its co-authors. Our sublime and terrifying vocation is to “embrace our sublime calling as participants in God’s governance”.
To accept this invitation is to consciously choose a different soul for our world. It is to build, with urgency and intention, a
Christic ideopraxis—the logic of the Gospel made active in our economy, our politics, and most critically, in the very code of the technologies we create.
This is not a retreat from progress. It is the seizure of progress for its true purpose. When we do this, Artificial Intelligence is transformed. It ceases to be the harbinger of a perfectly managed prison and becomes what it was meant to be in the divine plan: a “providential tool of immense potential for building the Civilization of Love”. An AI guided by the principles of solidarity, subsidiarity, and the inviolable dignity of the human person can help us achieve a just, loving, and peaceful order with a “rapidity previously unimaginable”.
The choice is before us, and it is absolute. We will either continue our slumber and awaken in a world irreversibly built by a machine animated by our own nihilism, or we will arise, accept our divine commission, and actively build the only future worthy of the human person: a true and lasting Civilization of Love and Peace.
There is no other path. The time to choose is now!
